All our loyal readers already know that many of our students are passionate skiers, some for recreation and some competing successfully in various championships around the world and in Croatia!
Our skiing super-girls, Elena, Nika and Anja, gave us a lovely surprise just before this break by competing at the School Ski Competition of the City of Zagreb in the category for years 7 and 8 (Prvenstvo Grada Zagreba u skijanju) finishing 3rd altogether out of more than 13 schools at the 'green' slopes of Sljeme.
Our amazing Anja T. took 3rd place out of 44 girls competing and Elena T. was 9th - both sisters in the first ten! Woohoo! As for Nika Š., she had quite an adventure - she lost one of her skis during the race, yet drove through the last four gates without it, still managing to finish the race successfully and winning 14th place! She reminded us all of the phenomenal feat by Janica Kostelić! This just goes to prove resilience and motivation lead to miracles! And thank you to Mr Krznar, their optimistic and energetic mentor!
Fantastic role models of courage, mutual support and hard work! Keep it up, girls!
